A short cruise around Dubrovnik's islands

4 Days / 3 NightsDubrovnik round trip

This Dubrovnik Adventure Sailing Break is ideal for active travellers who want to see as much of the Dubrovnik area as possible in a short amount of time. The cruise takes you paddleboarding, cycling, swimming and snorkelling across four islands — but the days are structured so there's always time to unwind and relax too.

Your home for the adventure is a comfortable sailing catamaran that easily accommodates 10 people, with plenty of space for everyone.

The route covers the Elaphiti Archipelago — thirteen islands stretching west from Dubrovnik, of which only three (Lopud, Koločep and Šipan) are inhabited year-round, and Lopud and Koločep are entirely car-free. You'll also spend a day in Mljet National Park, cycling around its two saltwater lakes and visiting the islet with its old monastery, before reaching the Pelješac Peninsula — home to some of Croatia's best wine, and the freshest oysters and mussels around.

Our local guides and skippers avoid the overcrowded spots, so you get an authentic short-cruise experience — dining with local families, good food, excellent wine, and often a friendly escort of dolphins or tuna along the way.

The boat departs every day except Friday and includes three nights aboard. Families with children aged 8 and up are welcome on family departures; younger children are welcome too, though we can't guarantee smaller bikes for them. This is a non-smoking trip, and it combines well with our other short experiences around Croatia.

Unlike our private day trips and tours, this sailing break is a small-group departure — you book by cabin, and may share the catamaran with other travellers, up to 10 guests total. If you'd rather charter the whole boat privately for your own group, send us an enquiry for a quote.

Day by day

Catamaran anchored off the Elaphiti Islands near DubrovnikDay 1Sailing Out to the Elaphiti Islands

Arrive at the sailing base 30 minutes before departure — boarding is at 10:00am on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays, and at 2:00pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Your crew welcomes you aboard, and after a short safety briefing you sail out toward the island of Koločep, stopping to swim and try the paddleboards before lunch at one of the best fish restaurants in the Dubrovnik area. In the afternoon, sail past Lopud Island to anchor for the night in a beautiful bay on Šipan Island.

Zuljana Bay on the Pelješac Peninsula, CroatiaDay 2Mljet Island National Park & Pelješac Peninsula

Next stop is Mljet Island National Park — perfect for sea kayaking, paddleboarding, hiking, cycling and swimming (the park entrance fee isn't included, but can be paid on the spot). A lush pine forest hides two saltwater lakes; cycle from the mooring to the lakes and, time permitting, take a boat out to the small island on the larger lake to visit its abandoned 13th-century monastery. Later in the afternoon, sail to a serene bay on Mljet or the Pelješac Peninsula for the night.

Cycling on the Pelješac Peninsula, CroatiaDay 3Pelješac Peninsula — Paddleboarding, Swimming & Snorkelling

Spend the morning paddleboarding, swimming and snorkelling before sailing east toward Broce and Ston. Ston's stone walls run 5km, built to protect the salt production that was once vital to the Dubrovnik Republic — walk the walls connecting Ston and Mali Ston, famous for its oyster farms. Pelješac is also one of Croatia's best wine regions, and you'll sail past vineyards on the peninsula's steep southern slopes, with plenty of chances to try the local reds. In the afternoon, return to a quiet bay, or Luka Šipanska, for the night.

Sunset over the Elaphiti Islands, CroatiaDay 4Return via the Elaphiti Islands

On the way back to Komolac, sail past the green Elaphiti Islands one more time. Your guides know the area well — feel free to ask them for recommendations on other, less-visited spots worth a look if you're extending your stay in Croatia.

  • Maximum 10 guests aboard per departure — this is a small-group trip, not a private charter, unless you request one (see below). Larger private groups possible on request.
