What our travellers say
Wonderful memories of Croatia
"We had four day tours with Ingenious Traveller, this transfer tour from Zagreb to Split was the first one. Our whole experience with our guide Ivan and the office contact Gorana was pleasant and satisfactory. With their wonderful services, we got to appreciate the beauty of Croatia and nearby countries such as Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro. We choose Ingenious Traveller again if we visit the area again."

"Day trip with Davor as our guide and driver from Zagreb to Slovenia to see Postojna Cave and Predjama Cliff Castle. Then onto Lake Bled. We had an amazing day. Very scenic and beautiful day. Davor made it so easy... Highly recommend this tour company. Booking was very easy and his wife Gorana made sure we were happy with times and itinerary."
Linda W — Perth, AustraliaFabulous!
"We went this year on family vacations to Croatia with small children... Gorana and Davor totally grasped our wishes and have been great hosts for us. They made us feel home in their own country that they know by heart."
MCFAQ
Planning a trip to Croatia?
What's the difference between a private tour and a group tour in Croatia?
A private tour is booked for your party alone — the vehicle, the driver or guide, and the schedule are yours, not shared with other travellers you've never met. A group tour puts you on a set itinerary with a fixed departure time, on a bus with strangers. With a private tour you can start later, skip a stop that doesn't interest you, or linger somewhere longer, and you're never waiting on other passengers to board or finish shopping.
Do I need to rent a car in Croatia?
No. Most of what we run replaces a rental car entirely — a private driver takes you between cities, airports and national parks, door-to-door, with no parking to find and no unfamiliar roads to navigate. It's a private vehicle for your group only, priced per vehicle rather than per person.
What's the best way to get from Zagreb to Plitvice Lakes without driving?
A private transfer or day trip is the most straightforward option. We can take you from Zagreb to Plitvice Lakes National Park and continue on to Split or Zadar the same day, or bring you back to Zagreb — either way with skip-the-line entry and a guided or fully self-guided visit at the park.
Is a private driver worth it compared to renting a car or taking the bus?
For most of our travellers, yes — you're not driving unfamiliar mountain roads, hunting for parking in old towns built before cars existed, or working around a bus timetable. And because our prices are per vehicle, not per person, it's often comparable to a rental car once you add fuel and parking, with none of the driving.
How much does a private transfer cost in Croatia?
It depends on the route and vehicle — a short airport shuttle starts from €50, and longer city-to-city routes go up from there. Every price is per vehicle, shown up front on each route page, with no per-person surcharge for a larger group. See Transfers for the full route list and prices.
Can you combine a transfer with sightseeing along the way, like Plitvice Lakes?
Yes — this is one of the things we're asked for most. Rather than a straight point-to-point transfer, we build in a stop at Plitvice Lakes (or another park along your route) so the travel day becomes part of the trip rather than dead time in a car. Our Zagreb to Split via Plitvice Lakes route is the most popular example.
Are your tours private, or will I be grouped with other travellers?
Every transfer, day trip and multi-day tour we run is private. You travel only with your own party — never combined with strangers to fill a vehicle — and every price is per vehicle, not per person.
